Participate in engaging workshops offering practical guidance for implementation. From crisis communication to sustainable schools, these workshops aim to provide tangible takeaways for enhancing the safety and functionality of educational spaces.

Topics Of Discussion

Discover innovative approaches to revitalizing aging school infrastructure. This topic explores the concepts of rightsizing and repurposing, offering practical insights on how to breathe new life into existing structures to meet the evolving needs of education.

Equip yourself with rapid response strategies for active shooter scenarios and crisis communication. This will provide actionable insights and protocols to ensure a swift and coordinated response in times of crisis, prioritizing the safety of students and staff.

Explore cutting-edge techniques for fortifying educational spaces and implementing robust access control measures. This topic delves into the latest advancements in school building security, offering insights and strategies to safeguard learning environments.

In today’s rapidly evolving world, the sustainability and resilience of our educational facilities are paramount. This topic will address the pressing need for schools and educational institutions to adapt and thrive amidst changing technological, environmental, and demographic landscapes.

Come explore the world of indoor air quality in K-12 schools! We’ll explore the essential elements of a healthy environment, proactive steps to take to ensure good indoor air quality, and effective responses to air quality complaints. Topics will include preventative maintenance, radon testing, indoor air quality monitoring, mold remediation, effective IAQ management plans, AHERA, and more. There will be a question and answer session, and a planning activity if time allows.

The post-COVID era challenges school districts to provide efficient and dependable school bus service. Chesterfield County Public Schools (CCPS), the fifth largest district in Virginia, has about 500 school driver positions and a fleet of about 700 buses. Emerging from the pandemic, CCPS schools fully re-opened in August 2021 with 140 vacant school bus driver positions. School bus fleet modernization had periods of deferral during the previous 15 years, resulting in over 250 buses between age 15 and 25. Deferred school bus modernization resulted in more repairs, reduced availability, and higher maintenance expenses.

Delegate Testimonials

Director of Facilities
Baltimore City Public Schools, MD

I have attended several conferences in my career and they are normally long and sometimes not intentional. RTM is intentional and the experiences were genuine. I was hesitant coming to this Congress as a first time delegate but after these days, I am re-energized and confident that I can bring resources to strengthen the work in my district. The staff is amazing at RTM and the colleagues across the country were honest and transparent about our experiences.

Director for EM & Safe Schools
Plano Idependent School District, TX

RTM provides quality interactive learning for leaders. I left with a brain full of actionable processes, connections across the country, and a fire lit to rejuvenate myself and my team upon return.
